This modeling assignment was part of a wider architectural project to create a building complex in Delhi, India. The goal was to model the façade in Rhino 3D and analyze how to best cut the stone slabs so as to to balance aesthetics against material waste. After gaining a strong understanding of the overall structure of the entire façade, each section was broken down and modeled in different variations to assess aesthetic qualities before analyzing the waste production for each variation to eventually come up with the best solution to the stone cutting dilemma. This project serves as a strong example for how to make architectural structures more sustainable in the design phase while not compromising on the aesthetics.
