The ACERO BENCHES are a set of parametrically designed community installations for public spaces. They aim to become an accent piece in both interior and exterior environments, while being specially formed to each individual location in an attempt to capture its personality and energy. The Acero Benches stand out from the scenery due to their unique, stunning metallic finish, but this reflective curvaceous surface is also what makes it suit any environment. Their surface captures the reflected light and colors of its surroundings, projecting a warped image of the environment on its body. These organic, shining installations catch the eye whilst still being a perfect fit.
The displayed images are but a few of the infinite form configurations the Acero Bench can take. By changing the cross-section of the seat and the pathway of its length, you could create a bench suited for a large variety of spaces. The consistency of the metallic finish across variations is what brings the product together and also what sets them apart from others. These visualizations were created with Grasshopper's parametric CAD modelling techniques alongside Rhino 3D's rendering capabilities. The forms are fully adjustable through manipulating number values within the Grasshopper documents.
